***************************

William Shakespeare was a famous English poet, player and playwright in the 16th century. He was born next to London in1564 and his parents were not poor. He had 7 siblings. He got married when he was 18 years old with a woman who was 26. He had two daughters and a son but he died when he was 11.

Shakespeare wrote poetry and theatre but he became famous for his theatre plays. He is the author of “Hamlet”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The merchant of Venice”, “Othelo” and many others and he is very famous around the world. For example one of the most famous sentences is “to be or not to be… this is the question” written in “Hamlet”.

This term we are reading a fragment of “Romeo and Juliet” in class. It is a love story between Romeo and Juliet but their families don’t like the relationship and finally the two lovers die. I don’t like love stories, I prefer action or terror stories because they are interesting.

2nd Term for second year of CSE.(ESO)

First of all I want to wish you all a happy new year 2010.
I hope the year we are starting brings you happiness but also knowledge. In this second term we are going to read a book by Oscar Wilde, "The Canterville Ghost", we will be working with units 3, 4 and 5 of our book and we will continue with our e-pals from the USA.

Your first task is to do a research about Oscar Wilde, where is he from, when did he live, why is he famous... In the post titled "WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE" your teacher has given you an example of composition and the guidelines to create your own. Remember you have to handle it back next Thursday, 14th of January. Good luck¡
